Re-registration
From 1st January 2013, every Platform in the UK will be obliged to offer the ability to support the in-specie transfers of assets.
Calastone has built a light-touch, GUI-based service for the re-registration of assets between platforms, custodians, brokers and fund managers.
Service highlights:
- Full visibility over the status of the transfer for all parties at all times.
- Zero development cost.
- Transfer Agents can print off and store an electronic transfer form for their records.
Track the status of your transfer at all times
The Calastone re-registration service supports wrapped (ISA) and unwrapped products and funds. The assets which can
be transferred between parties are typically mutual funds, cash and ETFs, however the system architecture is fully
scalable to support equities, bonds, SIPPs in the future.
Calastone has built its re-registration service in two phases, in line with our other major product developments such as
settlements and reconciliations. In phase 1, clients are able to send electronic transfer requests In and Out using
the GUI. The GUI follows the UK Market Practice Group guidelines for re-registration and each message is tracked for
billing purposes.
In phase 2, clients will be able to fully automate their re-registration process, leveraging Calastone’s internal
ISO 20022 messaging layer.
The acquiring party can transfer assets in specie or choose to redeem, per the UKMPG guidelines.
The following scenarios are supported during phase 1:
- Nominee to Nominee.
- Own Name to Nominee.
- Fund Manager to Fund Manager.
- Fund Manager to Nominee.
- Nominee to Fund Manager.
