Julien Hammerson, Chief Executive Officer
Julien Hammerson has been Chief Executive Officer of Calastone since October 2012, prior to which he held the role of Executive Chairman, having joined Calastone in September 2011.
Before joining Calastone, Julien led Corham Capital, a global investment advisory firm that he founded in 2007. Prior to this Julien held a number of senior leadership positions at institutional brokerage Instinet Group, where he ran the European segment of the global equities business before assuming responsibility for global equities in the UK, Europe and all international business in the US and Asia. Julien began his career at Lombard Odier as a US Equities trader.
In the four years since Julien joined Calastone, the business has grown from being a solely UK domestic business to serving clients across 31 countries and territories with offices in the UK, Europe, Asia and Australia.
Ken Tregidgo, Deputy Chief Executive Officer
Ken has over 20 years experience in business and technology transformation within the Financial Services industry.
He joined Calastone from Atos Euronext Market Solutions (now NYSE Technologies), where he was Global Head of Strategy and Business Development. Prior to AEMS, Ken was Chief Operating Officer of Instinet International & Instinet Europe, joining from a five-year tenure at Merrill Lynch as Head of Architecture for the Corporate and Institutional Client Group.
Prior to this, Ken was head of Fixed Income Technology at S.G.Warburg and Global Head of Derivative Technology at Chase Manhattan Bank.
Ken has a B.Sc. in Physics from Imperial College and holds a D.Phil in Atomic Spectroscopy from Oxford University.
James Colquhoun, Chief Financial Officer
Before joining Calastone, James was CFO of AOL’s European Operations and was a key member of their executive team. He joined AOL from branded video distribution company, goviral, which was acquired by AOL in January 2011. James spent 18 months at goviral, building the finance division, and was part of the executive team who sold the business to AOL.
Earlier in his career, James held senior finance positions in a number of high growth, international businesses.
Jon Willis, Chief Commercial Officer
With over 25 years’ experience within the Funds Industry, Jon leads all commercial market engagement for Calastone’s UK & European business. Prior to joining Calastone he spent 4 years at BNYMellon as Head of Transfer Agency EMEA & APAC, leading Transfer Agency Services outside of the US. Jon also served on the Board of BNYM IL. Prior to that Jonathan was the Chief Administration Officer at International Financial Data Services Limited, StateStreet’s Transfer Agency organisation, for 13 years, where he had responsibility for all aspects of service to clients.
Campbell Brierley, Chief Information Officer
Campbell has been in the financial technology industry for over 26 years, developing and implementing back, middle and front office systems. The majority of this was in messaging technologies, and communications platforms, predominantly SWIFT and latterly FIX.
As the third original member of Calastone, Campbell designed and architected the Calastone Transaction Network and also implemented a number of other product lines. Other key achievements include the delivery of an order management system to connect to the majority of Asian exchanges for CLSA, mostly for the first time. Campbell has also developed connections for the back and middle office applications to SWIFT, and consulted on messaging for tier one investment banks.
Leo Chen, Managing Director - Head of Asia
Leo leads Calastone’s Asian business, based in Hong Kong. Prior to his appointment as regional MD, Leo headed the Calastone sales and relationship team for Asia, covering a number of markets including Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan. Leo has over 18 years of experience across the financial services industry, culminating in his role as Principal Consultant with Morse Consulting Asia immediately prior to joining Calastone in January 2012.
Prior to this Leo held a number of senior roles with firms including Commonwealth Private Bank (Hong Kong) and Ping An of China (China and Hong Kong). His experience includes Operations, Systems and Business process re-engineering for front, middle and back offices in the Funds management industry.
Sarah Hayward, Managing Director - Australia
Sarah manages the Australian and New Zealand businesses. She originally joined Calastone in 2010, where she was responsible for managing key accounts in London.
In 2012 she moved back to her native Australia to help launch and build Calastone’s Australian business. In this role Sarah managed Australia’s largest accounts, ultimately leading to Sarah’s appointment as Managing Director. Prior to Calastone Sarah held senior commercial relationship roles within wealth management and financial services.
