Calastone kicks off Funds Industry Football Charity Shield for a fourth year running______

Calastone, the global fund transaction network, is sponsoring a fourth Charity Shield five-a-side football tournament, on the 5th June this year, at the London Soccer Dome.

Participating teams already signed up include Architas, Ascentric, Brooks Macdonald, Henderson, IFDS, Invesco, Investec, J O Hambro Capital and Novia as well as others, and it is set to be another fun packed afternoon with lots of exercise all in a good cause!

The event hosted by Calastone has seen in excess of £35,000 raised for charities in its first three years, and this year fundraising will be for a worthy charity, Children in Crisis, which gives children in some of the world’s poorest and conflict affected countries, the education they need to help transform their lives.

Koy Thomson, Chief Executive of Children in Crisis, said: “It is brilliant that we are this year’s recipient of the Funds Industry Charity Shield Tournament. Children in Crisis works tirelessly to educate children in some of the most remote, and war-torn countries.  Education is the key to children’s futures and peace in the communities in which they live. Calastone’s efforts will improve the lives of hundreds of children.  We cannot thank them enough.”

Dan Llewellyn Managing Director UK Sales at Calastone, said: “We are delighted to be supporting Children In Crisis at this year’s fourth Charity Shield five-a-side football tournament. Once again the funds community have shown their enthusiasm and commitment in helping raise funds to transform the lives of Children.  Children in Crisis works hard to help children get a better start in life that they deserve. Those joining us in taking part know that they are doing something good supporting this work, while having fun in the process!”
